About Me
I have been interested in photography for as long as I can remember. As a kid I remember watching my mom take photos with her Mamiya SLR camera. Seeing how much fun she was having, I decided to try it. I was instantly hooked. I have been taking photos ever since. For the last 30 years (I started when I was 8), I have been taking thousands of photos, honing my craft.
When I started my mom helped me out a lot, and she taught me much of the basics (thanks mom). After I was a little older and more comfortable with photography, I started taking photos on my own. I continually grew in my knowledge and skill, reading many articles and watching many videos on taking better photos. While growing up I remember watching a lot of nature documentaries on television, which deepened my interest even more.
These shows made a serious impact on me and the photographer I was to become. I also discovered Ansel Adams, a brilliant landscape photographer, who very much inspired me. My wife was a source of inspiration and support as well. It was she that recognized my talents and suggested I take my photography more seriously. She went so far as to get me a nice Canon digital camera a few years ago. My mother, my wife, the many professional photographers whose work I’ve studied, and Ansel Adams…all this inspiration has made my love of the natural world the focal point of my photography. Though other subjects catch my eye from time to time, I prefer to showcase the beauty of the natural world around us.
